Transition Girl

For some reason, I tend to be the girl people make friends with before they make friends with better people. I make friends with outcasts because I feel a certain kinship with them. I want to strengthen them up and make them feel good about themselves, and I genuinely enjoy their company. But then they do get confident and make other friends and forget about me.
I hate it. Why am I forgettable? Why aren’t I interesting enough?

  1. Story of my teen years... then college came and I just found equal weirdos. :) there's nothing wrong with you, there's something wrong with them. You'll find your niche dear. Just be patient.

  2. I agree with Eve: there's something wrong with them, not you.
I used to get that a lot too, though. It happens to everyone I guess. But if they 'forget' about you, maybe they weren't that good a friend in the first place.

  3. I can really relate to that Emily
I've always felt like I'm a bit of an outsider and I'm attracted to people on the fringes
But that's the great thing about this world
We can find people who are just like us and will accept us for who we are

We love you Emily just the way you are
    Don't change for anyone x

  4. I actually have a really hard time to become friends with people.. having trust issues ect doesn't make it easy either.. I can say that I have only one good friend and then I "know" a bunch of people..
Anyways.. I do not understand how could anyone forget you.. I think you are amazing!

  5. You are so sweet and so interesting and so worth not only sticking around for, but growing close to. You're worth reaching out for. And you may feel like those friends move on from you, but you made them feel so much better about being who they are. And they'll hold onto that forever. And I can tell you that they'll remember it was you that made them feel good in the end.
In the meantime, you deserve friends that aren't only there to take... but also to give. To make you feel good about yourself. To make you see that your friendship is beyond worth hanging onto.
Please take care sweetie <3 Because I see that even just reading your blog is worth saving the web-address :)

  7. Have you ever read the book "The Five People You Meet In Heaven"? I read a few months ago and it made me feel beter about this aspect of my life. I have always felt on the fringe of groups but I guess that is a part of what makes us who we are. Every moment in life is for a reason, we just don't know it yet.
