I'm Still Alive

Dear Readers (or myself)
I’ve been away from this blog for almost year now. This was necessary, as I was starting to feel like the blog was tiring, or a chore, instead of an uplifting activity. I apologize to everyone as I left people without notice. You can get away with a lot of rudeness online.
Since I left, there have been many changes to my life.
I’m going to graduate school in the fall.
I cheated on one of my boyfriends, and then dumped the guy I had fallen in love with for his best friend, who dumped me, used me in a friends with benefits scenario, and then dumped me again.
I tried and failed to learn computer programming techniques.
I found a truly wonderful therapist and continued with group therapy.
I even told my parents that I had bulimia and brought them to a therapy session!
I feel so close to recovered, and yesterday I decided that I wanted to start blogging again. Who knows how long it will last- probably not very long to be honest- but I’m going to do it for as long as it feels right.
I’m going to try weekly or daily goals again. Post about skills, write about therapy topics. I’m going to write a lot that doesn’t have to do with eating disorders but rather stress in general, because stress is what causes behaviors a lot of times. I’m going to hold myself accountable.
Plus this will be something to do instead of try and get boyfriends.
So hello again! And goodbye for now.

  1. EMILYYYY! HIIII!
I'm really glad to see you post, but I totally understand why you needed to take a break. When blogging isn't enjoyable anymore, you shouldn't push yourself to keep posting. You did what you needed to do for you, and I'm glad you did. Like you said, do it for as long as it feels right.
I'm so proud of you for telling your parents about your bulimia, and especially for bringing them along to therapy. I'm really looking forward to reading your posts about weekly goals and therapy again, I've missed you!

    Take care lovely <3 xx

I often wondered what had happened to you
I am so glad that you are recovering
And that you told your parents
I know that was a big issue for you
So great to get an update
I'll look forward to reading more..... x

  3. I'm so relieved to see you post! You were so consistent for so long. I worried that one of the truly heinous outcomes of bulimia had gotten you. I'm not sure if I ever commented (my blog is not a good one for recovery-oriented people as I am still very conflicted and lost in my own issues. I try not to draw you in) but I'm glad you're alive and relatively well. Take care.

  6. Why hello there! Hmm, all those things that have happened sound both good and bad. Guys, who needs 'em. Wow, congratulations on grad school and your parents! Did you graduate as well? If so, congrats on that, that's a big step. I'm trying to post more recovery based things too, I've been so unfocused, so I'm looking forward to that. Take care hon.
