Goals of the Week 13

The b/p goal for last week was to not binge because of hunger. And I did it! It prevented me from binging exactly one time, which told me a lot of things. First, I do have enough self-control to refrain from letting my hunger take over. Second, I usually don't binge because of hunger. When I binged this week it was because I felt lonely, depressed, overwhelmed, and because I was triggered by foods.
Thus, this week my goal is to not binge because I'm feeling emotional. Another way to phrase this: I will not eat unless I'm legitimately hungry. And this week I'm also going to take it meal by meal. I'm going to take a minute before going into the dining hall every day and think about what I need to eat in order to be healthy. This morning at breakfast I did a good job of it and it worked.
That has been a hard one in the past for me, especially when I was restricting
My non b/p goal for last week was to make healthy choices and write them down. That worked for a few days but when it came time to binge I completely scrapped that idea. I'm sure you've been through that- you just get rid of every single healthy habit whenever you're on a binge spree.
My goal for this week is to not weigh myself. Last week I purged once when i discovered that I was up two pounds, and I don't want that to happen this week.
What are your goals for the week?

  1. Well done Emily! I am delighted for you!

My binges are rarely to do with hunger
Mostly they are driven by boredom, anxiety, depression.

Mu goal this week is to get to an NA meeting, I badly need to go

    Love to you x

  3. I'm glad you could follow your pln last week, congrats!! This oal for this week is very difficult. So don't be too hard on yourself, ok? A tip I found very helpful is to always break the goal 2 times. So for example if your goal is to not binge because you're emotional for 1 week, maybe you could break it once and say "I won't binge when I'm emotional for half of the day" nd if you break it twice is says "I will stop the urge to binge for emotional reasons once everyday". This makes you more confident and remember, baby steps! Also, I read that the word "NOT" in the goal stuff, mkes your brain foret about the word NOT and it's hrder to do it. Try to get more positive goals, so instead of "I will not binge nd purge" say "I will provide lots of nutrients to my body by eating healthy food when I'm hungry".

Just a few tips, and it's working great for me. But keep strong and don't give up!

    1. Thanks for the tips. I have read that if you see the word "not" in the goal it makes you more likely to do it. I figure that knowing this I can sidestep that. Also it seems that either way I phrase the goal I'm just as likely to fail or succeed, so I gave up trying to phrase things differently.
I'm also not sure about the break the goal twice thing but I'll try it. I mean, I don't want to try to break the goal twice, but if I do break it twice I won't be hard on myself.
I'm glad things are going well for you!
